The school of Mechanical Engineering offers both a broad Mechanical Engineering degree that has emphasis on Fluid Mechanics, Mechatronics, Hydraulics, Automotive and Medical Engineering fields. Engineers qualified in all these areas play a key role in the design and manufacture of items that impact on modern living and our everyday lives, whether it comprises of household goods, healthcare products, sports equipment, reliable cars, aircraft or other transport systems.

The department has a very effective advisory system, which maintains sound student-teacher relationship. The department strives to achieve improvement in academic standards and is much dedicated for the overall development of students. We are equipped with experienced professional hands impart efficient knowledge to the students. The laboratories and the workshop in the department and the supporting departments give ample opportunities to the students of Mechanical Engineering for gaining practical knowledge and hands on experience. Industrial visits and Educational tours are made an integral part of the curriculum to familiarize the student with the industrial environments and working conditions.

Educational Objective of Department

The Mechanical Engineering Program is designed to prepare students for continued learning and successful careers in industry, government, academia and consulting.

The outcomes we desire are that our graduates demonstrate the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global and societal context & an ability to identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems with a better understanding of professional and ethical responsibility

Facilities

The department is well equipped to handle the extensive curriculum set by the University and makes use of the following labs to achieve its objective.

Computing Fundamentals

The Computing Fundamentals Lab helps students to familiarize with basic hardware and software tools. It also focuses on implementation of algorithms and programming concepts of the language Python and various programming paradigms based on the theory subject, Introduction to Computing & Problem

Engineering Science Lab

All the facilities are available to carry out latest syllabus oriented Engineering Chemistry and Physics lab experiments for all the student engineers. Different industrial material preparation strategies and analysis techniques are demonstrated in the lab for academic purpose.

MACE plans to attach different material development strategies, analysis techniques and instrumentations for providing support to industries and R and D institutions.

Basic Mechanical Engineering Lab

The ultimate aim of this lab is to make students familarised with basic mechanical engineering operations and different mechanical tools used for various application. It also provides in house experience of basic mechanical instruments and activities.

Fluid Mechanics Lab

The students are given an opportunity to understand the various principles in Fluid Mechanics and their practical applications through this well equipped laboratory.

Material Testing Lab

The objective of the strength of materials lab is to demonstrate the basic principles in the area of strength and mechanics of materials and structural analysis to the undergraduate students through a series of experiments. In this lab the experiments are performed to measure the properties of the materials such as impact strength, tensile strength, compressive strength, hardness, ductility etc.

CADD Lab

The primary objective of the lab is to serve as a platform for understanding the various modelling and analysis softwares like AutoCAD,Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, Ansys, Tora, Spss and Minitab

Industrial Maintenance and Servicing Laboratory

This lab is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to equip students to perform and train them in general purpose tools and equipments. They will be given training in dismantling, assembling and overhauling of I C engines, servicing and maintenance of machine tools and air conditioners. Training for servicing of car air conditioners refrigerators and pumps will also be carried out.

Advanced Machine Tool Laboratory

This lab is equipped with state of the art facilities to equip students to perform various operations on machine tools like lathe, shaper, milling machine and planning machine. They will also be given practice on CNC programming and CNC machines operations.

Hydraulic Machines and Fluid Power Lab

The students are given an opportunity to understand the various principles in Fluid Mechanics and their practical applications through this well equipped laboratory.
